CPR and First Aid Courses
FIRST AID ESSENTIALS FOR CHILDREN
The First Aid Essentials for Children course is specifically designed for individuals responsible for providing CPR training and first aid to children. This course is particularly suited for parents, caregivers, guardians, domestic workers, and family members of children at risk of sudden emergencies, as well as anyone interested in acquiring essential child safety skills focused on first aid.
Participants will engage in practical training covering vital first aid training for children at home, which includes accident prevention, medical and trauma emergencies, environmental incidents, CPR, choking, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Each participant also receives a 20-page workbook for study and review before, during, and after the course.
DURATION: 7 HOURS
Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance. Please note that this is an attendance-based course and is not accredited as a Level 1 First Aid course by the Department of Labour.
Additionally, this course is part of the Discovery Vitality points system.
FAMILY AND FRIEND CPR AND CHOKING
The Family and Friends CPR Course is specifically tailored for the general public, including relatives, friends, and caregivers of adults or children at risk of sudden emergencies. This course is ideal for those without medical training who want to acquire essential life-saving skills to ensure child safety and protect those they care about.
The course provides an introduction to vital CPR training and choking response skills for adults, children, and infants, along with guidance on how to contact emergency services. Each participant receives a 40-page Family and Friends CPR booklet to reference before, during, and after the course.
DURATION: 3-4 HOURS
There is no certificate issued, only an attendance card. This course is also an excellent complement to first aid training and is part of the Discovery Vitality points system, making it a valuable addition to any sleep consulting or sleep training programs.

The Nanny CPR and First Aid Course is designed for nannies, au pairs, and childcare providers who are directly responsible for the care and safety of children. The course covers essential emergency skills, including infant and child CPR, choking response, accident prevention, and basic first aid for common household incidents such as burns, falls, fever, vomiting, diarrhea and allergic reactions.
Through hands-on practice, participants gain the confidence to respond quickly and effectively in real-life situations.
Every participant receives a Mamariffic Certificate of Attendance upon completion, along with a comprehensive training manual to support learning before, during, and after the course.

CPR FOR EVERYONE

This course is designed for individuals who may need to perform CPR in the workplace. It is especially suited for fitness instructors, care workers, teachers, lifeguards, swimming instructors, childcare staff, and other lay responders.
The CPR for Everyone course trains participants in CPR and choking response for adults, children, and infants, as well as the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Learners receive hands-on practice in CPR skills, choking management, barrier devices, pocket mask use, and activating emergency services. Each participant is provided with a 17-page full-colour manual for study before, during, and after the training.
To qualify, students must complete a 15-question multiple-choice exam and successfully pass three practical skills assessments.
Successful candidates receive a Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa (RCSA) Certificate of Competence in CPR, choking, and AED, valid for two years. HPCSA-registered participants also earn 4 CPD points.

The Heartsaver CPR & AED course is designed to teach the techniques of CPR and choking in adults, children, and infants, and the use of the AED to lay, rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in their occupation or workplace.
A 51-page A4 Heartsaver CPR & AED workbook is provided to each participant for review before, during and after the course.
ACCREDITATION: On successful completion, a card valid for 2 years is issued. HPCSA 7 CPD points are also allocated.

This course is designed for all lay responders, including firefighters, police officers, airline crews, security personnel, workplace employees, family members of individuals at high risk of sudden death, and anyone interested in learning first aid for adults.
The Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED course is primarily intended for those expected to provide CPR and first aid in their workplace. Participants gain hands-on practice in essential adult first aid skills, covering medical emergencies, injuries, environmental incidents, CPR and choking for adults, children, and infants, as well as the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Each participant receives a Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED Student Workbook for review before, during, and after the course. Two pocket-sized Reminder Cards are included, summarizing CPR and AED steps for adults, children, and infants, along with guidance on recognizing heart attacks and strokes. A First Aid Quick Reference Guide is also provided, covering choking, severe allergic reactions, heart attacks, diabetes, low blood sugar, strokes, seizures, shock, bleeding, burns, electrical injuries, and penetrating wounds.
ACCREDITATION: Successful participants receive an American Heart Association completion card, valid for 2 years, and 7 CPD points for HPCSA-registered candidates.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is ideal for healthcare professionals and volunteers who may be required to respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies. The course is designed to teach participants the essential skills of CPR for patients of all ages, basic airway manoeuvres, rescue breathing with or without adjuncts, the use of bag-valve resuscitators, and the safe operation of automated external defibrillators.
Learners will also be trained to manage choking in conscious and unconscious adults, children, and infants, while gaining awareness of important considerations such as scene and rescuer safety.
The course is presented in a relaxed, video-based, interactive environment that emphasizes active participation and hands-on practice in simulated scenarios. Each participant receives the official American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Manual for review before, during, and after training. On successful completion, candidates are awarded the American Heart
Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certificate.
This qualification is a compulsory entry requirement for advanced international life support programs such as ACLS, PALS, ANLS, and AMLS, as well as national postgraduate qualifications.
